I had a few buzzards circling here this morning. I told em to wait I was tired but I wasn't dead yet. ;D
Got my peas, cukes and cantaloupes planted. Suppose to check with a place tomorrow and see if Bonnie Hybrid will leave them some sweet potato plants, if not I think I will plant some butternut squash.
Wouldn't hurt if we could get a good rain.

I worked in my north flower gardens this morning. Got stupid posion ivy coming up everywhere. I got into it a couple of weeks ago, so I am trying to be careful.
Finally called Lowe's in Milan and they will have some sweet potato plants next Tuesday. I know the girl who runs the garden center. I told her to save me at least 50 plants.

My row is about 50 ft long so I set em out about a foot apart. If they do any good like they have in the past I should make between 3 and 4 bushel. I will give Momma and Daddy some, a couple of friends here in town and if you ever come up here I'll give you some taters.

You know me, I'm out there everyday unless it's pouring down rain. I did plow the garden today, sprayed everything. Alot of bean beetles this year. My red potatoes are blooming so I dug down and sure enough I found several potatoes as big as hen eggs. ;D They still got about 6 more weeks to grow. The cabbage should be big enough to start eating in about 2 more weeks. Still ain't found no sweet potato plants. Lowe's was suppose to get some other day and didn't. I am suppose to check back again tomorrow or Monday. I guess if they don't get any I will plant some butternut squash. They are good and keep well thru the winter.

Sounds like everything is growing right along. Just hope it keeps raining now and then. Even after that good rain the other day, my flower beds are bone dry. I don't feel like watering them tho. They are on their own till I feel better. Yikes my yard is lookin real redneck right now. A jungle. Maybe I will feel like mowing tomorrow. Gosh, I am a perfectionist at procrastination now!!!!!!!!!!!

My tomatoes are blooming, cabbage should be ready in another week, if I wanted to dig some new red potatoes I could, but I think I will wait until it's time to dig em all at once about the end of June. Green beans are setting pods for blooms. Everything is looking good. Still waiting on sweet potato plants. Supposedly by tomorrow they will have em, if not Plan B will go into effect.

Don't need Plan B after all. A friend called me this morning and found some plants. They are in the ground and I am a happy camper.

I know. Lord help our water bill if it doesn't rain in a few days. Had to drain and clean the water feature and refilled it yesterday. That took nearly an hour to fill it up.
